On Feb 6th HELPERS is hosting an online event on the topic of isolation

The COVID Lockdown…..we all remember and we’ll likely never forget. The implications of this worldwide event have been profound. Here at HELPERS, we witnessed firsthand the impact on many of our area seniors.

We observed physical and mental changes not seen before the isolation of the lockdown and the fears that lingered even after we were told it was safe to go out into the world.

We humans are social creatures; we need to connect with others. When we don’t have the means and opportunities to connect with others, we can become vulnerable to social isolation and loneliness.

Research has linked social isolation and loneliness to higher risks for a variety of physical and mental conditions (Source: Natl Institute on Aging).

Our mission at HELPERS focuses on offering a wide range of services and activities to address these risks and to enhance the quality of life for our area seniors.

On Feb 6th HELPERS is hosting an online event on the topic of isolation; it’s impact on physical and mental health and how to take care of yourself and others.

We hope you’ll consider attending this important informational program. See the details below.

Isolation and Why It Matters, Tuesday, Feb. 6th, 10:30am. This is a free Online Event that you can view at home on your own computer or here in the HELPERS office. Learn about the physical and mental impacts of isolation and what we need to do to take care of ourselves and others.

If you wish to view this at home on your own computer, you must register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/isolation-and-why-it-matters-tickets-791042177447. If you would like to participate by attending at the HELPERS office, please call 218-354-7090 to register.
