It’s an opportunity to promote a positive image of aging and highlight how our Senior Community Center improves the lives of older adults. Senior Centers are vital to the health and well-being of a community. The Barnesville Senior Community Center is active in offering social, educational, and health-related events in close collaboration with HELPERS. PART TWO-Hospice and Dementia Care: What You Need to Know and How We Can Help. Monday, Sept. 18th, 1:30pm, Bville Senior Community Center. Presented by Kyra Kainz, HRRV Community Relations Specialist & Arlene Correia, HRRV Certified Dementia Trainer. Free and Open to All. No need to pre-register. We will continue this important informational presentation where questions will be answered and misunderstandings will be clarified.

Exercises for Seniors, on Mondays, and Thursdays, 9:30-10, Bville Senior Community Center. This is a basic, low impact exercise program to promote body movement, strength & balance. No pre-registration is required. Just show up and have fun while also doing your body good!
Game Day every Tuesday & Friday, 12:45 to 3pm, at the Bville Senior Community Center Join in the fun & games such as Pinochle, Whist, Hand & Foot and Rummy with other area seniors. Senior Safety Academy
Senior Safety Academy, Thursday Sept. 14th, 9am-1pm, Hjemkomst Center, Moorhead. Valley Triad will be discussing topics important to seniors including tactics to conquer fear of victimization, medication issues, post COVID self care. This is a free event is sponsored by Clay Co Social Services and Adult Protective Services. Brunch and vendor booths are included. RSVP is required! To register call 218-299-5514. Fika “Take a Break” with Coffee & Conversation,
Wednesday, Sept 13th, 10-11am, at the HELPERS office.
All are welcome to join us for this monthly morning coffee break. Fika is a Swedish coffee tradition; it’s a time set aside for being together, catching up with friends, and enjoying a little something to eat. Contact HELPERS in advance if you would like transportation assistance.

HELPERS is always looking to add to our amazing team of volunteers and we have a variety of opportunities to fit your interests and time availability.
