“Steering into the Skid”
On Nov. 9th from 10a – 12p, HELPERS and the Clay County Age Well Coalition will be presenting the second in the 3-part Remember Project dementia awareness events. The 2nd play, “Steering into the Skid,” presents the story of Tim and Amanda. In 12 short scenes, one per month and all taking place in Tim and Amanda’s SUV, the audience comes to know this loving couple’s subtle changes and adjustments they are forced to deal with due to memory loss. Following the virtual play, we will have an informal, guided discussion. This free event is for all community members in addition to those impacted by dementia. Attendees can participate at a group viewing site or individually from their own home & computer. Attendees MUST register either by going to https://CCAW-skid2022.eventbrite.com or by contacting HELPERS. Our primary goal with this 3-part event is to help everyone in our community understand what dementia is and how it affects people so that each of us can make a positive difference for persons living with dementia and their loved ones. Hope to see you there!
