HELPERS, along with our Clay County Age Well group, is proud to bring to Barnesville and the surrounding area The Remember Project, a unique series of three one-act plays about memory loss. These plays, performed virtually by professional actors, bring to life real issues connected to the care, diagnosis, and experience of dementia and how relationships can be tested in unexpected ways.

Following each performance, audience members take part in a facilitated conversation about the themes, metaphors, and impact of memory loss depicted in the plays. The first play, Fortune Cookies, will be presented on Wednesday, August 10th, 1-3pm. In
this humorous play Mona, a vibrant octogenarian is determined to be the first to know if her recall is slipping beyond what can be considered normal, age-related memory loss. An unexpected visit from her son David reveals that she has cooked up a way to help herself and others be on the lookout for the early stages of dementia. This series of events are free and open to all and participation can be in person at a viewing site or online from your own home. Registration information coming soon!
